I think the best way to be completely safe is to not drink and drive. If you do plan on drinking make sure you have a designated driver, who hasn't been drinking. The best defense against a drunk driver is wearing a seat belt. Make a smart choice to not drive while impaired, you could save some one else's life or yours. I found on this website a girl named Jacqueline ,was hit by a teenage drunk driver( Reggie Stephey )who was driving home after a couple beers with his friends. She was caught in the burning car for 45 seconds. Her body was severely burned. Two of her friends died in that car accident. She didn't though, she lost her ears and also one of her eyes and her body is covered in burns. She had to get over 40 operations just to live. Three years after the accident he had to serve 7 years in prison and fined $20,000. He was charged with manslaughter for the deaths two of her friends and 2 counts of intoxication. The motto for the slogan don't drink and drive is "Not everyone who gets hit by a drunk driver dies".
